Enlightenment

An Altered State of Consciousness in which the following experiences are common:
- Egolessness
- Bliss or Ecstasy
- Oneness
- Boundless Love and Compassion
- A new-found meaning to one's life
- Feelings of being one with God or a Higher power
- Detachment or Dissociation from one's body and from worldly concerns
Most religions and spiritual groups assign special significance to an experience of enlightenment. Most consider it as the attainment of one's final goal as a human being.
For example, in Eastern religions, one may be considered as having exited the cycle of reincarnation.
